Take 5 Pieces Cut
After spending the past few days grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning and enjoying having friends over last night, I spent most of the day today working in my studio. Boy did that feel good! With the house clean and the refrigerator full of leftovers, there was nothing stopping me. After grabbing a fresh cup of coffee, I straightened up my Accuquilt cutting area, cut the pieces for the Take 5 quilts that my sister and I will be piecing, worked on adding frames to the squares of a signature quilt I'm making, cut, joined and pressed sashing strips for another project and worked for a little while on my weaving loom. I got a lot accomplished and enjoyed every minute!!!
Here are the fabrics my sister and I will be using for our Take 5 quilts. I'm mailing them to her with some other things and hopefully the package will arrive about the same time she returns from visiting her daughter and her family this week.
The top left has a muted cream colored background covered with fine sprigs of blue, green, and cranberry dots. The top right is a striped design containing all of the same colors. Each stripe is a different width and design. Bottom left is a beautiful muted print of different shades of cranberry red. The middle is a muted greed covered with green swirls and the piece on the far right is a muted cream colored piece. I am very happy with the way this combination of fabrics looks together. I hope my sister likes it too!!!
A reader gave me a great idea.....my sister and I can Skype while we quilt! This will bring our Long Distance Quilting to a new level. It will be almost like having her in the same room with me while we work on our quilts together!
Happy Quilting,
Laurel
