Off and Running
School's out, school's out........and I am so glad! I do love my job, !I just completed my thirty-fifth year of teaching elementary education and will be happy to go back in the fall but after a long, hard winter, I am delighted to have a break.
Our school year was long. After making up our snow days and packing up my classroom, today is my first day of summer break. Of course teachers don't really get the summer "off". There is a lot of work to do to prepare for the next school year but, for now, I am going to enjoy some time for me. I have a terribly long list of things to do this summer and enjoyed jumping right in today!
My sister arrived today and we get to spend a wonderful week together! She brought some quilts that need to be quilted and we have several things we want to do, places we want to go and people we want to see!!!
I am making a special quilt for a dear teacher friend who retired this year. (I will be happy to show you a picture this week after the recipient sees the quilt).
Happy Quilting,
Laurel
