Mother In Law
I was looking for something on the dreaded top shelf of the linen closet and came across this patchwork pillow. My mother-in-law was a quilter. Sometimes she would make pillows with some of the leftover pieces after completing a quilt top. Ma (as she was lovingly called by everyone and anyone) made this pillow for my daughter. This pillow spent many years in my daughter's doll cradle comforting the babies!!!
I have many fond memories of my mother-in-law. We had a lot in common and got along well. She was a quilter, did hand embroidery and made rugs with her weaving loom. Ma also taught me alot about canning, making custard pies and how to make the best deviled eggs in the world!!!
My parents and my in-laws got along with each other very well and I was thrilled that we could have everyone over at once to celebrate any special occassion or to enjoy dinner, and always had a great time.
With Mother's Day approaching, I am reminded of how lucky I was to have a warm and loving relationship with my in-laws and hope you are that lucky too.
Happy Quilting,
Laurel
