I had to say good-bye to a dear friend today. She lost her battle with health issues and is at peace now.
Her husband, also a quilter, asked for a memory quilt to be made. Very often memory quilts are made from items of clothing that belonged to the loved one. In this case, he wants the memory quilt to be a signature quilt to celebrate memories of her life.
To help make this project happen, I cut 6 inch square pieces of a white tone on tone fabric. People who were in attendance at the memorial service today were asked to write a fond memory they have of her on a square and sign it.
We'll put this quilt together and create a keepsake that will give her husband comfort for a long time to come.
