Memorial Day

Memorial Day is our most solemn holiday.  I am thankful for all who have served in our military, those who have lost their lives, those who have lost loved ones serving our country and those still serving to keep us safe and protect our freedom.

After spending some thoughtful moments to remember what Memorial Day is all about, we usually turn to celebration which is also awesome because we have the freedom to do so.  Memorial Day also marks the unofficial start of summer.

Today was a rainy day here so other than grilling bratwurst between the raindrops, I spent most of the day inside.  I finished a quilt I was working on for an out-of-state quilting friend then made my summer to-do-lists.  With only a couple of weeks until summer break, and being behind from my surgeries and recovery last year, I want to be organized and ready to make progress right away.  I will get caught up this summer!!!  I made one list of the quilts that have already been delivered to me to be quilted for quilting friends, a second list of the quilts I will make to fill special requests/orders and finally a list of the quilts/quilting of my own projects.

I feel good getting it on paper so I am less likely to loose track!  Even though I have a lot to do, I always find satisfaction being able to cross completed items off of my lists.  So this summer......you can find me in stitches!! haha

Happy Quilting,
Laurel
