Labor Day
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I love Labor Day. I like the fact that we celebrate a day that recognizes all of the people who work hard or have worked hard. The three-day weekend doesn't hurt either!!! My daughter and grandson are visiting and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Even chores go better when I have my little helper around.
We mowed the grass and trimmed (and spent some time on the swing set), cleaned up branches (and started a "campfire"), took garbage out (he is tall enough now to drive the Gator), played with the dog (and fed him treats), did some shopping (which, of course, included a toy or two), visited family (played with his cousin), helped Grandpa fix the driveway (which included riding on the tractor), had a cook-out, watched a movie, read books (he read one to me and I read one to him) and did some quilting (I love when he plays with his trains while I am quilting)
I sat down and fell asleep for a few minutes --- he was still raring to go!!! It doesn't seem fair. I would like to figure out how to bottle some of his energy so I could use it later. He is sound asleep now but I know he'll be up early in the morning. He wore me out. I am tired but it is a "good tired" if you know what I mean.
A great weekend like this reminds me to take time out for family. We get so caught up with our busy lives that it is easy to forget to make time for the simple things and to have a little fun.
I hope you have some fun this weekend!
Happy Quilting,
Laurel
