Jury Duty

Summer seems to be flying by. There are not enough hours in a day to get everything done that I want to get done and having Jury Duty this week sure didn't help!

I will say that it was an interesting experience to serve on a jury for a criminal case.  I was fortunate to work with a good group of people.  Although deliberations were long and hard, I believe we agreed on the best verdict.  Still... I was there several days and it really cut into my quilting time.

It really felt good to get back to my studio today.

Quilt

This quilt has an interesting story.  It was brought to me  to be quilted and I was told about the woman who pieced the top.  She is an elderly woman who loves to make quilt tops.  Several people in her church bring their scraps of fabric to her, she cuts squares and sews them together into beautiful scrappy quilts then gives them away!  It is up to the recipient to get it quilted and bound and they have a wonderful new quilt to keep. I felt honored to work on such a piece.

Happy Quilting,
Laurel
