International Quilt Festival - Chicago
Had a fun, exciting, inspiring, tiring weekend visiting the International Quilt Festival in Chicago.
The quilts on display take your breath away. One after another, they are unique, beautiful and inspirational. I want to make them all!!
Even sitting down to eat lunch is enjoyable. It is always fun to talk to other quilters from around the country, around the world and around the state.
I have to admit, my favorite part of the quilt festival is the vendor area. I love seeing the new fabrics, supplies, tools, notions and visiting with my vendor friends. Of course, I love the shopping most of all!!! The vendors make it especially easy when they offer free shipping so I don't have to carry my purchases for the remainder of the day.
I have enjoyed every year that I have attended this show.
I was saddened to receive an e-mail yesterday that announced that this was the last year the show will be in Chicago. They are, however, looking for another venue for future spring shows. There is a fall show in Texas, but, I will likely not be able to attend that show.
I surely hope they are able to find a new location soon!
Happy Quilting,
Laurel
