Hydrangea Basket

I recently finished quilting this beautiful Hydrangea Basket wall-hanging.

The woman who made this quilt paid close attention to every detail. The basket is actually woven from slender tubes of fabric.  The leaves and vines are neatly appliqued complete with embroidered veins and each delicate Hydrangea Blossom is a separate piece with a beautiful glass bead center.

This special quilt called for some special quilting.  I did some outline stitching and tacked down parts of the basket so it would continue to keep its shape.  The background is filled in with some fern-like stitching and groups of pebbles to add some depth and texture.

Thank you Betty for letting me share your beautiful creation.

Happy Quilting,
Laurel
