Happy Easter

Happy Easter! I hope you has a great day and were able to do something, to make you happy.

Today was a near perfect day for me! The weather is finally warm, sunny and springlike. I cooked a big dinner that everyone seemed to enjoy.  My family was able to be together. It was wonderful to have us all under one roof for the day. Our grandson is getting so grown-up and our granddaughter is learning to walk. Their parents are wonderful parents and it is awesome to watch as life goes on and the family evolves.

I say "near perfect" for two reasons. First,  we were not able to see all of my siblings and their families today. Secondly, I was so tired by the time everybody left and the kitchen was cleaned up tonight that I didn't have the energy for any quilting tonight!!! I did, however, look at the two new quilting books that my daughter brought for me this weekend.

She brought me "Monkey Wrench, New Quilts from an Old Favorite" from the American Quilter's Society and "Quilts of Indiana, Crossroads of Memories" which is an Indiana Quilt Registry Project. I love collecting, looking at and thoroughly reading quilting books.

Never fear, quilting and quilt related activities are in my near future! I have been working very hard to get everything finished for our celebration today. Thursday, after school, I ran errands and did my grocery shopping.  Friday, I cleaned the house from top to bottom then visited awhile after our daughter and grandson arrived from out of town. Saturday, we played, visited, shopped, colored eggs and hosted a game night for some friends. Since things are already finished.....I will get a good night's sleep tonight and wake up refreshed and ready for quilt activities!!!

A friend and I have a sewing day and a fabric shopping day planned for this week! I also have a mile long list of projects to work on and/or complete.

I'm loving it!!!

Happy Quilting,
Laurel
