Go Summer, Finally

It seems like it took forever for summer to get here this year.  Our school year didn't end until June 12 due to all of the snow days we used during our cold, snowy winter.  I used the beginning of last week to finish packing my classroom and completing the required end-of-the-year paperwork and report cards.

We have had a terrible amount of rain so I have not been able to do the yard work I had hoped to accomplish by now but I've been able to start some of the indoor projects.

We had doctor appointments and my husband got a great report.  He is allowed to fully return to work!!! This is very good news. It has been a long four months and we are thrilled that he is doing so well.  Thank you to everyone who sent prayers and positive thoughts to help his recovery.

I promised my husband that once the school year was over, I would shop for a new car.  I own and love my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. She has served me well for 15 years but is getting a little old and tired.  I knew I would want another Jeep but had a hard time giving up my Sport.  Well, I finally did it! Tonight we brought home my new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. She is a real beauty and has room to haul a big bunch of bolts of fabric!!! I am very excited and can't wait to put it to the test at the next big fabric sale.

Now that the school year has ended, my husband is back to work,  and I have a new reliable vehicle.........let the quilting get into high gear!

I have a long to-do list including quilts to create, patterns to write, quilts to make to fill orders, quilts to quilt for others, my own quilts to finish and a new grandchild due at the end of August so new baby quilts to be done.  Life is good.

Happy Quilting,
Laurel
