Giving Thanks
Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you are enjoying a day of family, friends, good food and fun. I hope you are able to spend some time today doing things that make you happy and reflecting on things that you are thankful for.
I truly enjoyed this Thanksgiving Day and have so much more to be thankful for this year. At this time last year I was in the process of having testing done but had not yet received a diagnosis. This year I am a survivor and I am thankful for my family, who helped me, stood by me and supported me throughout my ordeal. I am thankful for my friends. I am thankful for my oncologist who is truly gifted and made all of the right decisions for me. I am thankful to God and the angels who I believe were looking after me. I am thankful to be a part of the quilting world full of quilt friends, quilts, quilt supplies, quilt fabric, quilt books and quilt projects which all played a part in my recovery. I am thankful that I was able to go back to school this year and continue teaching. And so much more.
I had a terrific day with family, great food and conversation (which for awhile was all about quilts). Some family members were not able to gather and were missed but all in attendance enjoyed the day.
I'm tired this evening and have decided to rest with my feet up for a bit. Soon I get to read some stories and tuck my grandson into bed. Then back to my chair to plan my projects for tomorrow and the weekend. I am very happy to have a long weekend so I have some time to spend in my studio.
What are you working on this weekend?
Happy Quilting,
Laurel
