County Fair

We went to the County Fair today.  My grandson is six years old now and the perfect age for the wonderment of the fair.  He, of course loved the midway and wanted to spend all of his time playing games, riding rides and eating food from the various vendors.  He met a friend and I believe they rode every ride they met the height requirement for.  Our daughter monitored the food, ride and game activity while my husband and I took in the exhibits.

Of course my favorite building is the one with all of the arts and crafts exhibits in it.  As I was wandering through the building admiring the beautiful work, I was inspired to try some new things.  I have made many quilts and I have sewn tons of clothes but I have never, and I don't know why, made any quilted clothing.  I now have the desire to make a quilted jacket!  I believe this is a pefect project for the soon-to-be-here cool fall evenings.

I am also going to try to work with some fancy borders.  I usually tend to use solid borders but I have been inspired to experiment with some fancy borders.  Many of the quilts I saw today had one or more pieced borders on them and they were beautiful.

Tonight I will dream about my new projects and tomorrow I will shop for the fabrics to create them with, and maybe a few extra to add to my stash!!!

Happy Quilting,
Laurel
