Confetti Quilt
I finally finished this quilt!!
My grandchildren and I call it The Confetti Quilt. The center of this quilt is actually Party Pop by Slice of Pi Quilts. It is pretty and was fun to put together. A friend and I each made one. We planned a sewing day and worked on them together. We used the same colors and it was interesting to see how differently they both turned out.
My quilt top has been sitting there, waiting to be finished while I pondered what to do. I just knew it needed something else done before I quilted it!!!
Finally, I knew what I wanted to do!! Luckily, I had extra of the colored fabric so I cut strips and pieced a 2" (cut 2 1/2") border to frame the original quilt top (now the center of my quilt). Because of the way the directions instructed the blocks be cut, there was an abundance of scraps remaining. Since I love working with scraps I had saved them all! I used the scraps to piece an outer border which I cut to 5 1/2" wide.
It paid to wait. Now, quilted and bound. One more quilt completed and I am thrilled with the final outcome!
Happy quilting,
Laurel
