Come On Snow!
I know the students always cheer for a snow day, tonight I am hoping for one too!!! I won't be happy in June when they add the day to the end of our school year but there is something magical about a snow day when it happens. Your alarm wakes you, you crawl out of bed and start getting ready for work and the phone rings --- your heart races a little bit --- you answer and the message tells you the school is closed due to bad weather!!! That's the great moment. You are already awake so you've got the whole day ahead of you. The whole day is a gift of time because you planned to be at work and now you can plan what you'd like to do at home instead!!!
Our weather is bad tonight. We only have about 6 inches of snow so far but it is supposed to snow more through the night and we are told to expect high winds and single digit temperatures in the morning.
I spent some time cleaning up in my studio this evening in hopes that I'll have some time working there tomorrow!!! I like having a neat and tidy work space to go to with a fresh cup of coffee in the morning. I hope I didn't jinx it by being so prepared. I have a long list of things I'd like to get done. I'm very tempted to stay up late tonight and get started but with my luck, I'd be up all night and still have to go to school in the morning. That wouldn't be good.
Don't get me wrong --- I love what I do --- but an unexpected day off of school and being snowed in would give me a gift of time to work in my studio. That would be magical!
Happy Quilting,
