Buchanan Scarecrows

These are a few of this year's Buchanan Scarecrows!!! 

They seem to get better each year.  These scarecrows are a town project in Buchanan, Michigan.  Each fall, scarecrows decorate the entire town.  The scarecrows are made by members of the Buchanan Art Center.  From what I understand, businesses order the scarecrows and the Art Center custom makes and displays them.

I am happy that I can donate my batting scraps and leftover pieces to this project.  The batting is used for the heads and repurposes my scrap pieces. I hope you will find the time to take a drive to Buchanan and see all of the wonderful scarecrows.  The trees are beginning to change color and there are many shops to visit along the way.  It's fun to grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and walk or drive around town viewing these works of art.  You could stop for lunch along the way and have a lovely afternoon.
