Accu-quilt Rules!!!

Over the years I have entered many contests and have not won.  I can no longer say that!  I won a shopping spree from Accu-quilt!!!  I am extremely excited to have won a contest and even more excited that I won something so fantastic!!!

I have been looking at the Accu-quilt for some time.  When I saw it in person, being demonstrated at the quilt show in Chicago this spring, I knew I had to have one.  The Accu-quilt is a machine that cuts multiple layers of fabric at one time.  It is easy to use.  It cuts perfect pieces quickly and the dies are available in many shapes and sizes.

After finding out that I had won the gift certificate, I poured over the Accu-quilt catalog for days trying to decide what to order ..... I want it all !!!  Finally I spent my winnings, then I spent some more and then some more!  Wednesday came and the big brown UPS truck pulled up my drive-way and delivered four large boxes to me.  What fun.  I have been having a ball ever since and am having a difficult time leaving my Accu-quilt long enough to do a load of laundry or mop the floors!!!

It took me no time at all to cut enough 5 inch squares for a quick charm quilt and 2 borders.   A charm quilt is a quilt in which each piece is cut the same shape but from a different fabric.  The first border is a 2 inch border to frame the charm pieces and the second is a 5 inch border to finish the quilt top.  Voila ... a quilt is born.

We were all very excited when we first started using our rotary cutters.  They cut our cutting time and made more accurate cuts.  The Accu-quilt will cut 10 layers of fabric at a time,  cuts our cutting time even more and cuts precision pieces every time.

I am already preparing another order because there are a few more dies I really want to have!!!!

Happy Quilting,
Laurel
