A Man's Quilt

Today is the first full day of Spring and National Quilt Day.  I hope you are having a great day.  I am.  One of my sisters came to visit for a while and to pick up some Easter Baskets I  made for her grandchildren.  (With Easter so close, I thought it was time for me to get finished weaving them!)  My husband took us out for brunch and we had a great visit.  I also got some quilting in and went shopping for a while with a friend.

I have a great quilt to share with you.  One of my quilt clients wanted to make a quilt for her grown son for his birthday.  She wanted to make sure the quilt was not frilly or feminine but also not too plain or dull.  She made "Boxers"!!!  This quilt is great. ----- No, it is not made from somebody's undies,  it is made from new, clean fabric pieces----- Each pair of boxers is made from fabric such as sports teams, John Deere Tractors, chili peppers etc.    There is a waistband made from a contrasting fabric and a fly outline stitched on the front of each pair.  The boxers are each appliqued to a block and pieced together with a blue sashing between the blocks.  I quilted the entire quilt with a double wandering loop.  This is a great quilt for a man, and because of its scrappy nature, alot of fun collecting the fabric pieces for the boxers.  Enjoy!

Happy Quilting,
Laurel
