Farmall Tractors

The secret is out! The baby quilt was given at the shower last weekend.

Friends of ours are expecting their first child and know it is a boy.  Daddy collects Farmall Tractors made by International Harvester.

I was tickled pink to find Farmall Tractor fabric to create a very special baby quilt for for their new bundle of joy.  I fussy-cut the large squares (cut 9½" for a finished size of 9") to showcase these adorable scenes. I especially love the center square with the pedal tractor and the little boy roping the calf. I separated the large squares with four-patches (cut 5" for a finished size of 4½" so the four-patch equals 9") made from a white-on-white fabric and the great red with the Farmall and International Harvester logo all over it.

The white-on-white was used to make a framing border.  Lastly, I added an outside border of the Farmall logo fabric to tie it all together.  The red Farmall fabric was used for the backing and the binding of this cute little quilt.

I quilted with a close, overall, wandering loop pattern to add strength and durability to this quilt so it can withstand many washings and frequent use through the toddler times.

I am very happy that our friends love this quilt and hope their little one does too!

Happy Quilting,
Laurel
