Cute Little Duckies

One of my quilters embroidered twelve adorable cross stitch ducks for a baby quilt. Due to Covid, she was unable to shop for the materials needed to complete the quilt. In the meantime, the baby was born.

She brought the twelve squares to me along with the backing material.  My inventory happened to contain the perfect fabrics to complete the quilt top for her.

I used the green fabric with a bit of yellow to make a narrow (3/4 inch) framing border around each embroidered block and a binding which helps make the colors pop.  The yellow fabric, with a touch of green made the perfect sashing.

Meandering the entire quilt made sense to help strengthen it to endure the many washings of a well loved baby quilt.
